A case or recurrent pituitary apoplexy

A 35-year old female presented with a 5 day history of headache, diplopia and reduced visual acuity preceded by 6 months of lethargy and weight gain. Visual field testing revealed left temporal hemianopia. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a benign pituitary adenoma with intra-tumoural haemorrhage compressing the optic chiasm.
